One of the first steps in conducting a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) is identifying behaviors and measuring them. Operationally defining the behaviors in a way that is easily measurable can be challenging. Participants will learn how to operationally define target and replacement behaviors in a manner that facilitates writing a Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP). Methods for accurately measuring behavior with the ultimate goal of being able to progress monitor behavior will be presented, practiced, and discussed.
